Job Summary

As a GMI Equity Researcher, you will be part of a team responsible for researching the equity ownership of top European institutional investors. This position is multi-faceted and requires verbal communications skills, oral and written proficiency in English and Russian, research skills and a basic knowledge of financial markets. Successful researchers at Ipreo are detail-oriented, exhaustive researchers and self-starters.

You will be part of a dynamic team split among 3 different locations (Paris, London and Cape Town) responsible for updating and enhancing Ipreo information on buy-side institutional investors. Research will include, but is not limited to, equity; fixed income; and hedge funds. Active telephone communication on a daily basis (up to 75% of researcher’s time during busy season) with buy-side institutional investors is required for success in this role. This will include involvement in Proxy campaigns, transactions and MENA when required. You will also be inputting data in Ipreo databases on a daily basis by decoding information coming from custodian bank lists. Researchers will also make use of regulatory filings and industry publications for secondary research.

Essential Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree or working towards, preferably with a concentration in business, finance, or economics. However, all majors will be considered.

Experience

• A minimum of one year of business/financial-oriented experience.

• Shareholder ID, Proxy and MA experience considered a significant advantage.

Skills required

• Detail orientated

• Proficiency in Word and Excel

• Fluent written and conversational skills in Russian is essential, good writing and conversational ability in English.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines and multi-tasking abilities

• Strong phone skills

• The candidate must have and a willingness to reach out to various parties in the corporate and investment communities.
