You will be reporting to the Deputy Head of Financial Institutions, Europe, the job holder will support the teams' day to day relationship and marketing activities, including:
- Investigating, and responding to a wide range of enquiries from a) correspondent banks, and b) from within the bank
- Attending meetings (internal and external) with banks, writing up meeting reports, and following up action points as directed
- Preparing briefing materials for meetings, maintaining up to date profiles of our FI relationships, and preparing other reports on our activities as required
- Preparing background material (business rationales) for credit applications
- Administering, and arranging appointments, for the annual high profile (e.g. IMF/EBRD) meetings, and preparing briefing material for the same
Core responsibilities:
• Business development and maintenance of Financial Institution relationships in accordance with Financial Institutions Department, global strategy and business plan
• Plan and refer business in clearing, custody, treasury, derivatives, syndicated credits, committed lines of credit, and other products and services, in support of our client units, and carry out Investor Relations (IR) activities
• Production, maintenance, and supervision of client information data, and marketing material, in support of the FID, business plan
• Monitor risks in the activities of our group, taking appropriate action when necessary
• Working with Financial Institutions Department, and other divisions / branches / units, to support, a) establishment of close relationships with Money Centre banks in EMEA (as defined by FID) and, b) expansion of existing relationships with banks incorporated in EMEA, and those operating in EMEA, but incorporated elsewhere
Requirements
You will meet the following:
- Ideally, educated to a degree level/ banking exams
- Previous operational banking experience, with product knowledge to include payments
- Experience of either working in, or in close liaison with, a Financial Institutions Relationship, or Transaction Services, team. Exposure to treasury and trade finance products
- Ability to write clear, concise reports. Competent user of Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Good communication and interpersonal skills. Patient, flexible and logical approach
- Flexibility to work extended hours when required
