Safeguarding Officer

I am currently working with a respectable NHS client in York who is looking to employ an interim Safeguarding Officer to cover the North Yorkshire region. This is a full time contract position available to a RGN, RMN or RNLD nurse who has a good understanding of Safeguarding and Adult Nursing Care.

Working as a Safeguarding officer you will be supporting the work of the Designated Professional for Adult Safeguarding. The post holder working in partnership with the Local Authorities, will be involved in joint quality assessments for the Care homes and Nursing homes in the North Yorkshire area, to ensure that a quality service is maintained. You will support work as a member of the safeguarding team to give assurance to the four CCGs (Clinical Commissioning Groups ) around the safeguarding agenda.

Core Functions

• To take responsibility as delegated by the Designated Professional for Adult Safeguarding for the Adult Safeguarding and care home Quality Assurance agenda within North Yorkshire and York.
• To support the Designated Professional for Adult Safeguarding with investigations by leading the quality assurance assessments, and resulting action plans formulated in conjunction with the Local Authority.
• To develop and maintain effective partnership working with Independent and NHS providers as well as adult social care services in relation to the Adult Safeguarding and Quality Assurance agenda.
• As a Safeguarding Officer, you will work as part of the Adult Safeguarding team in supporting the CHC team in delivering effective assessments, reviewing cases as required.
• With the support of the Designated Professional for Adult Safeguarding you will support Adult Safeguarding and Quality Assurance in NHS Continuing Healthcare.

Ideally you will have previous experience dealing with Adult Safeguarding and assessments, but my client is happy to consider transferable experience /skills from other nursing sectors. As this role involves travelling applicants must be car drivers and have a valid driving license. Working hours are Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm
