This highly respected and well established logistics organisation has been closely involved with the continuing expansion of the iron ore industry in the Pilbara. With a firm commitment to substantially increase its operations the company is now seeking a suitably qualified and experienced individual to join their high performing safety team.
Reporting to the Safety Manager this role is responsible for promoting a strong safety culture through education, standards and process across the organisation, and ultimately improving the safety record for all activities. You will assist with inductions, monitor operations, JSA’s and hazard assessments, undertake inspections and audits, and prepare relevant business cases and reports. Other key responsibilities will include participation in emergency response and security exercises and provision of first aid.
Suitable candidates will possess a minimum of Certificate IV level in OSH with demonstrated relevant safety experience, preferably in a logistics or industrial services environment. You will have highly developed analytical skills with a strong history of developing, assessing and implementing solutions to risks and hazards. You will also possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships, influence positively and negotiate at all levels. Advanced First Aid (AFA) would be well regarded.
