Safety and Environmental Coordinator

This position oversees all facets of safety and environmental programs including; training, guidance, audit, hazard assessment, communication, compliance, waste control, record keeping and reports.  This position entails working with multiple facilities and disciplines including: RD, laboratories, and broad multi-level manufacturing.

Requirements/Qualifications:  Bachelors' degree - Masters' degree preferred - Environmental Sciences with coursework focus in Environmental Quality, Chemistry, Biology, MIOSHA, Industrial Hygiene Safety....

This position requires full-functioning knowledge of programs, certifications and reporting requirements for: MIOSHA, MSDS, EPA and MDEQ reports (Tier II, Biennial, SARA Form R/A, NESHAP Halogenated Solvent Emission and Waste certifications), and a strong, thorough working knowledge of Hazard Communication, Personal Protective Equipment, Bloodborne Pathogens, Control of Hazardous Energy, NFPA 70E, Respirators, Hearing Conservation, Forklift, Aerial Work Platforms, Crane Operations, Storm Water Conservation, Ergonomics....  Must have strongly developed inquiry and communication (oral written) skills.  Must be able to effectively use multi-media presentations to teach and train safety procedures and practices.  Must possess a strong work ethic and be able to work with little direct supervision.  Must be self motivated with excellent time management skills.  Some travel involved.
