Winton is located in central western Queensland, 177km north west of Longreach, 450km from Mount Isa and 600km from Townsville. The Shire is a very progressive rural local government, employing approximately 130 staff. Winton is the birthplace of Qantas, the home of Waltzing Matilda and now there are major dinosaur fossil finds.
Safety and Risk Manager
Base Salary up to $85,000 pa
As the Safety and Risk Manager you will be responsible in coordinating the Risk Management Strategy of Council including all aspects of workplace health safety, employee training, business continuity and insurance.
The successful Candidate must possess their Certificate IV in Occupational Health Safety, Certificate IV in Training Assessment and be competent in all aspects of the Microsoft Office Suite. Previous local government experience in a similar role and tertiary qualifications would be highly desirable.
