Scientist - Safety Biomarker Method Development and Validation Company: Innovator of products and services for the early detection, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases, creating added value in healthcare by focusing on expertise in diagnostics and pharmaceuticals. Responsible for developing and conducting novel protein assays for a range of targets (cytokines, receptors, enzymes) as biomarkers in blood and body fluids and indices of tissue injury with broad applications to research in drug discovery and development. Helps pathologists and investigators characterize animal disease models, compound effects on efficacy or safety, and the selection of new drug targets and indications. Technical expert that develops and qualifies assays and analyzes samples, in biomarker related technology and associated specialized specimen processing. Participate in the department on investigative teams by providing solutions to challenging biomarker related issues, including generating experimental hypotheses, designing and conducting/collaborating on experiments and studies. Coordinates investigative biomarker activities listed above between pathologists, immunohistochemistry scientists, and other scientists in Drug Safety Evaluation and Biological Sciences and new technologies. Provide backup support to the Clinical Pathology Laboratory by performing specimen processing and analytical testing for hematology and serum chemistry as required. Required: Experience in assay development on multiple platforms such as MesoScale, Luminex, Gyros, SearchLight, Singulex, etc. Strong theoretical and practical knowledge in antibody functions and methods, enzyme analysis Assay development, protein conjugation, purification, and characterization, antibody screening and selection, and protein stability studies. Strong hands-on skills in immunological, biochemical, and molecular techniques. Strong scientific capabilities to establish and perform a broad range of quantitative antibody based assays; ability to analyze, interpret and integrate the data with other findings.
