Purpose of Role
Assist the Regional SES Manager and Plant Manger with the company-wide safety, environmental, safety security programs. These would include controlling loss to the personnel, property and assets of the company and working to insure environmental compliance. This position requires managing the day to day safety, environmental and security requirements for the site. The site SES Coordinator will also help with research that may result in policy change, alter procedures, and ensure location compliance with state/federal OSHA, insurance, corporate guidelines and EPA requirements as required.
Principal Accountabilities
Safety
§ Assist in assuring that the location of responsibility is in compliance with company safety-related policies.
§ Ensure compliance with state and federal OSHA requirements (for location of Responsibility).
§ Maintain and facilitate safety programs at specific location, review accident reports, inspection reports, OSHA logs, and related documentation. Perform Job Safety Analysis as necessary.
§ Conduct safety-related training at location of responsibility in order to assist all associates in meeting compliance associated with training needs.
§ Investigate serious injury or property loss claims. Assist with General Liability claims.
§ Assist in the activities of workers compensation claims for location of responsibility.
§ Perform occasional incident causal factor studies and generate a summary of findings.
§ Ensure project safety reviews are documented for all capital projects performed at the site.
§ Develop and maintain a site safety program that engages all associates and keeps safety at the forefront.
§ Maintain data of all safety key performance indicators (KPIs). Keep these KPIs visible in the site and lead key initiatives that continuously improve these metrics.
Environmental
§ Executing and documenting appropriate environmental training (SPCC, SWPPP, Emergency Response, etc.) for required plant personnel
§ Maintaining and documenting the required equipment and permit checklists associated with our environmental permits (baghouse, scrubber, containment area logs, etc.)
§ Making sure the appropriate water discharger samples (storm water or wastewater as applicable) are obtained and submitted in a timely manner
§ Maintain the on- site environmental manuals for each of their locations and updating these as directed by corporate personnel
§ Obtaining and logging material and utilities usage for each of their sites to aid in air permitting submittals
§ Serve as emergency response contact/coordinator for their facilities
§ Maintaining all environmental plans for their facilities as directed by corporate personnel

§ Executing and documenting appropriate site security requirements in order to meet corporate standards
§ Execute training on site security for all associates and manage overall system to insure proper operation

§ Non-physical: Broad range of computer skills, phone, dictation of notes, good organizational skills and organization of files. Must be able to interpret scientific requirements associated with both safety and environmental permits.
§ Physical: Extensive walking, climbing ladders, bending, stooping and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
§ Work Environment and Time Requirements: Mixture of time spent in air-conditioned office settings, operating locations with variety of temperatures, dust and construction environments.
MinimumQualifications
§ B.S. Safety Management, Industrial Safety, Engineering or experience in a closely related field
§ At least 2 years of industrial or manufacturing background.
§ A good understanding of OSHA/EPA and related guidelines with the ability to learn is necessary.
§ Basic understanding of environmental requirements with regard to overlapping jurisdictions with OSHA requirements such as community right to know laws, hazardous material storage and disposal methods.
§ Thorough understanding of corporate and legislative Safety, Security, and Environmental requirements which effects the business.
§ Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management.
§ Knowledge and understanding of engineering concepts and design.

Preferred Qualifications
§ Understanding of workers compensation insurance and property insurance protection requirements is desirable.
§ some knowledge of DOT hazardous material transportation requirements, and pesticide/fumigant restrictions
