As a key member of our northern region Defence Logistics team, the Safety, Health and Environment Advisor is responsible for providing advice on all relevant issues  and to ensure compliance by assisting, coordinating, implementing and maintaining all required safety, health and environment processes and systems in support of our Defence Integrated Distribution System projects.

This challenging role will also see you:

• Providing safety, health and environment advice in relation to SHE processes, business rules, legislation and standards
• Coaching employees, supervisors, managers and other personnel in relation to safety, health and environment processes
• Monitoring and analysing safety, health and environment incident trend data and implement/recommend actions to counter trend
• Liaising with other safety, health and environment personnel to develop an integrated management system
• Ensuring compliance with incident reporting requirements and where appropriate assisting with and/or leading incident investigations

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Tertiary qualifications in OHS or related discipline
• Demonstrated experience and success in a similar role, ideally within a high risk environment 
• The ability to negotiate with and influence internal and/or external stakeholders, whilst maintaining key relationships
• Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, especially in Word, Excel and Power Point
