Safety Manager Job in Atlanta, Georgia US
Job Description:
The Project Safety Manager is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the safety program for Apollo Video Technology and subcontractor for the implementation and installation of Mobile Digital Video Recording Systems on-board buses and trains. Responsible for the enforcement of safe practices, such as the use of safety equipment and personal protective equipment, and other activities as required for OSHA, the Safety Manager will work closely with the customer, the Project Manager, and installation technicians to ensure the safe installation and implementation of the project. The candidate must be self-motivated and have strong leadership skills. This position is located in Atlanta, Georgia.
Responsibilities:
• Develop, coordinate and ensure implementation of site employee and sub-contractor safety
• Be on site whenever work is being performed to make thorough daily safety inspections of the project
• Immediately act to eliminate unsafe acts and unsafe conditions
• Record all suggestions made and actions taken to rectify unsafe acts and conditions
• Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis
• Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation
• Work with customers, contractors, and internal resources to ensure installations and documentation meet established safety standards
• Completion of administrative paperwork, files and compliance reporting
Qualifications:
• Have heavy construction experience of not less than three years, two years of which shall have been as safety supervisor
• Have completed OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Training or the Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health for the Construction Industry (OTI 510) in the past three (3) years
• Have completed First Aid/CPR/Blood Borne Pathogens training
• Experience in the public-sector is preferred
• Familiarity with automotive electronics wiring is preferred
• Experience with mobile video installation or other automotive electronics is preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills are required to communicate effectively with site groups, along with good computer and record keeping skills to accumulate and organize/present results.
• Good communication skills, both written and oral.
Additional Considerations:
• Flexible work hours may be required to supervise projects conducted during off-working hours
• Travel within the greater Atlanta area is required for the purpose supervising job sites, meeting with clients and/or stakeholders
