Safety Manager | Melbourne Job in Melbourne 3000
Our client is a leading global design firm operating across a number of key markets both internationally and here in Australia, including mining, oilgas, marine, etc.
The global safety team have adopted a unique approach to safety within the organisation with the emerging concept of lean thinking and resilience engineering combined to incorporate a continuously improving and adaptive safety model.
They currently have a requirement for a Safety Manager to drive and promote this approach to safety and incorporate it across their global operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain delivery of the safety strategy across the group, working closely with other business units and senior management
- Oversee the coordination and management of safety systems
- Implement and maintain company wide safety standards, procedures and work instructions
- Ensure compliance with regulatory safety requirements
- Provide advice on major projects
Key Requirements:
- Relevant experience in a safety role
- Excellent management systems experience
- Good people management and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to negotiate and influence clients and stakeholders
