Safety Trainer/Safety Technician

The Safety Trainer will perform the following duties:
- Schedule and conduct safety meetings for various companies
- Schedule and conduct OSHA, DOT, and EPA training for customers
- Conduct audits
- Obtain new business
- Continuing education and maintaining certification will be required
- Shower trailer delivery and set up
- Be able to attain a license in order to inspect and service fire extinguishers
- Inspect, calibrate and service gas and flame detection equipment
- Perform respirator fit testing
- Will train in order to work on portable and fixed gas detection equipment, air sampling equipment, sound level equipment, NORM survey meter, and flow tests on respiratory equipment at customer locations
- Perform calibrations, repairs, rebuilds and general maintenance on customer equipment
- Maintain safety paperwork
- Conform to all customer and DXP safety regulations
The Safety Trainer will perform meet the following qualifications:
- High school degree required
- College degree a plus, but not required
- Bilingual a plus
- Travel may be required
- Experience with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations
- Must have 1 – 4 years in training employees on OSHA required topics
- Experience in the oilfield industry preferred
- Certified trainer for H2S, Medic First Aid, and Defensive Driving
- Must pass drug screen and motor vehicle record check
- Must be in a physical condition in order to perform field work
- Mechanically inclined
- Valid driver license and clean driving record
- Safety background preferred but not required
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical and obtain a Commercial Drivers License with Hazmat endorsement
