Brief Description Develop and maintain client relationships by providing transportation solutions and outstanding customer service in an open office transactional selling environment. In addition, the Carrier Sales Account Executive is to secure reliable third party capacity to cover the freight in the assigned Region. This position will be required to monitor our third party capacity service and will network heavily with SNI Customer Service in the load acceptance space. An additional key accountability of this role will be managing the service our third party capacity supplies to Schneider as well as grow our carrier base by contracting new carriers. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Make initial contact with customers and carriers, introducing Schneider Logistics and our services, build and maintain relationships, increasing business with customers over time. 2. Secure third party capacity for all loads originating in your assigned market. 3. Quote, negotiate price and rates on a daily basis with customers and carriers. 4. Responsible for a group of 25+ carriers. Will need to understand their freight needs, desired flows as well as managing the service they supply to Schneider. 5. Network with SNI Customer Service to aid in Brokerage load acceptance. 6. Develop a long term plan to enhance third party capacity performance through the use of Continuous Improvement Methods. 7. Monitor daily progress of our third party carriers. Obtain timely updates from the carriers to ensure we have our loads in the proper status. 8. Obtain billing information from third party capacity to ensure we properly bill our customers. 9. Monitor and update third party insurance requirements. Be comfortable working with complex computer systems to enter our daily load details and follow-ups, post loads in your region to DAT, Freightplace, and outside posting companies as necessary. 11. Source new carriers to add to our carrier base. Ensure the carrier has proper operating authority and insurance as well as understand the carriers freight needs. Makes sales calls to prospective customers through the telephone, up to 70 cold calls/day and have established a book of business that currently earns significant variable incentive. Manage daily load activities through discussion with customers and carriers to ensure superior customer service. Handle incoming calls for all customers that may call in and be a valuable resource for problem resolution, load tracking and collection on invoices. Detailed Description
