Sales Administrator – Intermediary recruitment
Vanguard, one of the world's largest investment management companies and a recognized employer of choice, seeks a sales administrator to partner with the External Sales Executive(s), to drive new business development, and relationship management in assigned intermediary channels within an assigned territory.
Your primary duties and responsibilities:
- Conducts pro-active contacts to new and existing clients. Meets or exceeds all 'completed activity' goals set by management in an effort to drive sales in the assigned territory and channel.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with key financial advisors and centers of influence in an effort to support and help grow their practices. Maintains prospect/client database after every contact. Serves as the primary point of contact for top clients and supports the Sales Executive in these relationships to drive business within the territory.
- Supports clients in any and all service related items that will facilitate the sales process. This includes presentations, hypothetical illustrations, conference calls, building investment models, positioning research, and responding to product and service inquiries.
- Drives business with an identified book of clients outside of those relationships managed by the Sales Executive. Makes contact with the Focus 30 list quarterly. Assesses the needs of each client by asking targeted, high impact questions and positions the appropriate product and/or service that meet those needs. Asks for the client's business.
- Provides department support in external client events such as conferences and symposiums as needed. Travels as needed to support such events.
- Partners with the External Sales Executive to create the business plan and territory management strategies for the assigned territory and channel.
- Coordinates marketing efforts for the territory by implementing strategies developed by Marketing. Conducts calling and e-mail campaigns with the appropriate clients to promote these strategies.
- Assists with fielding calls from the Inbound Sales queue as needed
- Participates in special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent of experience and training required.
- One to three years experience in financial services industry. Significant level of knowledge related to financial services industry and primary products of the industry including, exchange-traded-funds, stocks, fixed income, and mutual funds. Knowledge of broker/dealer, financial advisor, bank, insurance, or trust markets preferable.
- Understanding of and passion for the sales process.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Excellent organizational and follow up skills. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to interact with all levels of internal and external personnel.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and sales skills.
- Professional presence.
- Proficient in computer skills, specifically Microsoft applications and contact management databases.
- Series 7 and 63 licenses or ability to obtain required licensing within 90 days of hire.
