Sales Associate
Job Description:
- Receives payment from customers for the purchase of merchandise
- Operates a cash register and manages cash to no variances
- Provides service to customers
- Processes customer sales to include accepting payment, packs merchandise and issues receipts and change
- Maintains the appearance of store which may include, stocking and performing general housekeeping duties
- Offers various sales incentives
- May answer phones and provide assistance
- Maintains a safe work area for customers and coworkers
- Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned
- May cross train to perform other duties
Experience and Skills:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Read, interpret and write in English
- Basic math skills
- Ability to process transactions accurately
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Ability to communicate in a professional and tactful manner
- Accurate listening skills
- Ability to handle problems and facilitate successful outcomes
- Ability to accept additional tasks, duties and/or direction from management
