Sales Consultant

Position Title: Sales Consultant
Department: Outside Sales
Reports To: Field Sales Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt

JOB SUMMARY
A Sales Consultant is responsible for attaining sales goals through the development of relationships and new business opportunities with target customers within a territory. Key objectives include achieving assigned revenue targets and meeting all account management guidelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Sales
oMeet or exceed annual sales goals for territory
oMeet or exceed annual sales goals by brand when assigned
oWhen assigned, meet "new door" goals
oMeet or exceed education and ticket sales goals
oAchieve the minimum standards established on the quarterly coaching forms.
oManage assigned sales budget, sample account and cash account in a timely and effective manner.
oMust work a minimum of five full days a week.

Territory Management
oCommunicate promotions to clients
oTake client orders, assist with returns and help reconcile issues
oAct as business consultant
oMonitor for diversion
oSchedule and conduct education classes as necessary
oAssist and develop local store business

Administration
oTimely communication and follow-up with all team members and clients
oAttend and be on time to all monthly sales meetings, trainings and appointments
oReturn paperwork when requested
oTimely and accurate submission of orders
oMaintain accurate and up-to-date account and territory records
oReport in advance any all requested vacation time off

Customer/Client Relations
oMaintain excellent customer service
oCheck voicemail messages and respond at least 3 times per workday
oCheck e-mail and respond at least once per work day
oRespond to calls within 24 hours
oDevelop and adhere to a hard sales route visiting 50 salons a week

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two or more years of outside sales experience with a quantifiable track record of meeting or exceeding assigned sales goals is preferred. A college degree in a related field is desired. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel is preferred.

LANGUAGE and MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Excellent communication skills in written, oral and presentation forms. Ability to read, write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively establish rapport, present information and respond to questions from managers, clients and coworkers with different personalities and backgrounds. Ability to explain and sell. Skill and ability to meet people and listen. Ability to apply basic accounting concepts (i.e. calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, percentages, interest).

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Self directed with excellent organizational and time management skills. Team player with a positive attitude. Skill and ability to meet deadlines and operate office equipment. Skill and ability to operate a computer, use Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel) and company software. Skill and ability to sell. Must maintain an acceptable driving record in accordance to the CB Sullivan Motor Vehicle Records Policy, valid driver's license and car insurance.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers to grasp, pick up and manipulate items. The employee frequently is required to reach with arms and hands. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, reach above shoulder heights, below the waist or lift as required to file documents or store materials throughout the work day. Proper lifting techniques required. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. May require standing and walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods through out the day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include both near and far sighted vision and the ability to adjust focus. The travel required for this position is 70% to 80% and at times overnight.
