Sales Director

THE ROLE: Sales Director - The successful candidate will inherit responsibility for the managing and driving the sales function of the business, with a current turnover of approximately £5,000,000. The candidate will be tasked with managing the growth strategy for the business with the target of increasing sales by a minimum of 15% YOY for the next 5 years. The candidate will invest approximately 25% of their time in the management and motivation of the sales office personnel consisting of an Estimator, a sales engineer, a receptionist and a customer service operative. The candidate will work closely with the MD to oversee the running of this small International Business and will be heavily involved in export sales, investing time in overseas visits in Europe and the US. The majority of the candidates time will be spent in the development of new business opportunities and revenue streams, dealing with Civil Engineers, Landscape Contractors, OilGas end users such as BP, Government and UN organisations and charities such as Oxfam and Red Cross.

THE COMPANY:
Our client are an international supplier of a range of civil engineering products and the business is split into 5 main divisions, these products are sold to Emergency Aid Agencies, UN Peacekeeping Forces, Landscape contractors and Civil Engineering Contractors.

THE AREA: Although covering a national basis the client is based in the South East.

THE PERSON: Our client are seeking an experienced international sales manager/director who is able to take a very hands on approach to developing business and driving sales through leading by example.

The candidate will have a vast background in sales management and have experience in the export market place.

The ideal candidate will have grown a small business and be comfortable within a small business environment and will ideally have experience working in organisations between £5-15m t/o - due to the unique working environment of a small business, the candidate must have a 'Do it myself' mentality as opposed to someone used to delegating within a larger business.

The candidate will have experience in export sales selling direct to end clients overseas.
