Sales Director
Sales Director - Consumer Products
This position is responsible for expanding the penetration of consumer products through existing distribution relationships and to promote and sell consumer products and breach services to new prospects. This position sells the Company's products and services using technical, organizational, industry and client knowledge to influence clients and assist them in applying the products/services to their needs resulting in revenue generation. In addition, the position provides input and participates in the marketing, market planning and business level requirements for the development of products and services. This position will report to the Chief Marketing Officer, could be field location and requires 60% travel.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize and qualify individual accounts and opportunities
- Determine organizational buying landscape including decision makers, influencers, and buying process.
- Establish executive level contacts within each account commensurate with buying landscape in each account
- Effectively position assigned products against each prospects needs in the areas of economic fit, technical fit, business solution fit, and competitive uniqueness.
- Develop and deliver sales presentations and close sales in a professional and effective manner by:
- developing sales and marketing proposals for clients on technical products services.
- maintaining up-to-date awareness of activities, industry trends government regulations.
- making regular sales calls to develop relationships and follow up on leads.
- acting to close deals finalize contacts.
- meeting established sales quotas and other assigned goals.
- Participate in sales forecasting and planning in an effective manner by:
- researching, developing maintaining long short range sales marketing plans for assigned territory.
- producing regular reports plans for Manager's approval.
- monitoring, analyzing, communicating sales data, via contact management software.
- Develop and maintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of staff and clients by:
- communicating openly, honestly and constructively.
- treating all employees and clients with dignity, respect and courtesy.
- taking responsibility for and making every effort to resolve communication, trust and respect concerns and problems.
- asking for information needed to perform job responsibilities.
- Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
- Manage Sales team to deliver on quarterly and annual departmental and business objectives by:
- Overseeing Sales Rep activity and assisting with building the pipeline and closing opportunities.
- Coordinating activity between territories and Sales Reps to maximize Sales Rep productivity and effectiveness.
- Regular reporting on team activity and progress against objectives.
- Coordinate sales activities with enterprise direct sales executives.
Qualifications
Seven plus years of sales experience selling consumer-focused technology solutions to senior level executives and key department heads across multiple industries such as financial services, security, insurance, and across multiple functional areas including finance, marketing, employee benefits, etc. Business development experience a plus.
Ability to grasp complex products and technologies and translate into user-friendly messages.
Keen desire and skills to understand complex competitor product features and ability to sell against them.
Experience managing sales representatives and coordinating duties across a sales team.
Excellent oral and written communication skills including formal presentation skills before both small and large groups.
Demonstrated ability in problem solving and negotiation with special emphasis on closing the sale.
Experience managing large territories and state-of-the-art product offerings.
A demonstrable capacity to keep abreast of new technology trends and industry issues and how the two can be synergized to solve current and emerging problems within the target market.
