Who are we looking for?
The candidate selected for this role must have experience in commercial lending and sales, loan portfolio management, financial statement analysis, collateral valuation, business and strategic planning and people management in addition to identifying and agreeing with our Statement of Faith.
What’s distinctive about this position?
The candidate selected for this position will have the opportunity to manage the relationships with loan participants, partner with various internal departments and lead a team to maintain strong, multi-level client business relationships crucial to ECCU’s off-book funding activities for the two billion dollar commercial loan portfolio. The incumbent will interact and negotiate with senior and/or executive levels of management of financial institutions pertaining to loan sales, loan portfolio management, troubled loan structure and resolution, and loan foreclosure.
What are some responsibilities of this position?
- Directs activities within the department to ensure that assignment, operations needs and client needs are met and performed according to department policies, guidelines, procedures and business plan
- Improves overall team effectiveness by focusing on improving the abilities, habits, effort and focus of the individual members of the assigned team
- Leads staff to complete participation loan sales targets
- Sets strategy for troubled loan management
- Directly negotiates and resolves conflict on key transactions
- Directly manages difficult participant relationships
- Contributes to process development, creates guidelines and integrates into other lending areas of the organization
- Participates in the annual planning of department’s goals
What are some requirements of this position?
- A comprehensive knowledge of legal and operational issues related to participation lending
- A comprehensive knowledge of the consultative sales process.
- Substantial knowledge in accounting and finance, including financial statement analysis
- Substantial knowledge of real estate secured lending, including collateral valuation, title, and legal considerations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
- Strong analytical, detail, and organizational skills
- Effective facilitation, mediation, advocacy, and negotiation skills
- Excellent listening skills
- Adept in detail and work process management
- Quick and creative problem solving
- Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Windows based analysis, communication, and productivity software
- Bachelor’s degree; six to eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
