Sales Director Job in Ottawa K1p6a9, Ontario Canada
Reporting to the General Manager, the sales manager has primary responsibility for planning, organizing, directing and controlling all activities and personnel within the department to meet the annual sales budget and profitability goals of the office.
RESPONSABILITIES:
- Business Development
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies for the short, medium and long term to ensure the expansion of the market share of the branch.
- Maintain good relationships with professional associations, chambers of commerce, and various government agencies.
- Design, develop and conduct business presentations.
- Directly service clients and ensure overall satisfaction.
- Identify new markets, new trends and new needs.
- Participate in the development and introduction of new products and services.
- Accumulate and report any relevant information about the competition.
- Management of the Ottawa Sales Team
- Manage the sales team on an ongoing basis
- Evaluate team’s ongoing performance, make recommendations and ensure to follow up that they have been completed.
- Supervise, Recruit, Train and Evaluate the Account Executives.
- Ensure good coverage of sales territories by Account Executives.
- Identify and propose training needs for the sales team. Recommend and develop tools to effectively assist in their performance.
- Continuously coach and monitor each account executive. Notify them of any deficiencies and implement corrective action.
- Administration
- Maintain organizational standards and quality.
- Ensure compliance with pricing policies and conditions of sale of the company.
- Prepare and submit for approval any proposed submission of importance.
- Complete according to standards all administrative documents, including sales and month end reports and the annual budget.
- Participate in any commercial project of a corporate nature.
- Provide a professional image and provide an example for employees.
- General
- Meet personal performance goals established at the beginning of the fiscal year.
- Maintain good communication with the branch departments
- Ensure customer satisfaction. In case of irregularities, immediately notify immediate supervisor and propose constructive solutions. Inform client of the solution and follow up.
- Any other work necessary for the proper functioning of the company at the request of General Manager.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
o Must be bilingual
- 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the service of selling B2B
- Proved ability to manage and motivate a group of employees (coaching and mentoring)
- Undergraduate university education, preferably in administration
o Demonstrated knowledge of sales and negotiation
o Master MS Office Suite.
o Achievements in event management (asset)
o Knowledge in the field of audio visual or technology from a related environment: Hotels, Production, etc. (asset)
