Sales Engineer

• Assist Sales force and partners in presentations to customers
• Design viable complex voice and data network sales solutions for customer applications, including preparation of network topologies, technical specifications, etc.
• Assist Sales force with ICB creation, review and Special Assemblies
• Provide presale design and support for complex WAN and Voice opportunities
• Translate and communicate complex technical design considerations between the sales team and prospective customers on sales calls and appointments
• Evaluate, validate, create diagrams and present design of technical solutions to customers
• Take the lead in technical QA with prospects and customers
• Assist sales personnel in closing sales by overcoming obstacles, gaining commitment from the client and accurately setting realistic installation expectations
• Serve as resident technical expert on products and services
• Ensure technical information and products sold support customer requirements and lead to successfully installed products and services
• Interface with customers to determine technical requirements and expectations
• Develop and deliver training for Sales
• Create technical network diagrams for sales teams and customers
• Work with customers and their vendors to obtain technical information needed to support clean orders through provisioning and installation process
• Maintain professional attitude at all times
• Maintain good working relationship with all team members and office staff
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned or as become evident
Job Requirements
• College Degree or 3-5 years of Sales Engineering experience
• Must have working knowledge of:
· PBX and Hosted telephony solutions
· Access methods – Ethernet, DS1, DS3, OCn
· Layers 1, 2, 3, 4 OSI model
· Hubs Switches and Layer 3 Switches and IADs
· Standard network topologies
· PSTN, PRI, Trunks, POTs and other associated Voice Technologies
· Routing protocols
· Security threats practices and typologies
· VOIP, VLANs, and LANs
· MPLS
· SIP and associated codecs
· Cloud/Managed Hosting Technology
· Data Center/It Strategies
· Managed Network Services
· Solid presentation skills
· Strong communications skills both written and oral
· Strong Organization skills and attention to detail
· Ability to provide technical leadership throughout the organization
· Solid business acumen
· Excellent interpersonal skills
Work Environment / Travel:
• Position requires reliable transportation and a clean driving record
• At least 85% travel in local market only (little or no overnight required)
