The Vacancy

We are looking for an indoor Sales engineer to support our Benelux sales team, who is able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users. Sales Engineers are the primary technical resource for the field sales force. Sales Engineers are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the technical advisor and product advocate for our products. The Sales Engineer must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users. Must be able to identify all technical issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. Must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle. To ensure clients' and their own company's needs are met, technical sales engineers liaise regularly with other members of the sales team and colleagues from a range of departments, such as research, development, design, purchasing, production, and quality, and senior company managers.

 

Candidate

To be considered for this role you will have a minimum of 3-5 years experience in industrial sales. A background or qualifications in pneumatics or hydraulics will be an advantageous. The candidate will be fluent in Dutch and English. German and French will be seen as an advantage as well. Candidates with existing relationships and clients will also be highly regarded. Candidate will think and work on the level of BE. Internal product training will be provided in order to guarantee the required service levels.

 

Tasks typically involve:

·         Searching for new clients who could benefit from company products or services and maximising customer potential in designated regions;

·         Establishing new, and maintaining existing, long-term relationships with customers;

·         Managing and interpreting customer requirements - listening to clients and using astute questioning to understand, anticipate and exceed their needs;

·         Persuading clients that a product or service will best satisfy their needs in terms of quality, price and delivery;

·         Calculating client quotations;

·         Negotiating tender and contract terms, to meet both client and company needs;

·         Negotiating and closing sales by agreeing terms and conditions;

·         Offering after-sales support services;

·         Administering client accounts with our CRM software

·         Analyzing costs and sales;

·         Preparing reports for General manager

·         Meeting regular sales targets;

·         Recording and maintaining client contact data;

·         Co-coordinating sales projects;

·         Supporting marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events;

·         Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product will meet client needs;

·         Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education;

·         Liaising with other members of the sales team and other technical experts;

·         Solving client problems;

·         Helping in the design of custom-made products;

·         Providing training and producing support material for other members of the sales team.

·         Closely cooperate with your colleagues across the globe.

·         Work with SAGE ERP software and ACT! CRM package in addition to the regular office applications.

·         Report to the sales manager
