SALES MANAGER
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the day-to-day sales interaction between all Symmetry Medical divisions and their customers. This will include quoting, business development; sales call networking, follow up on requests and initiating projects and monitoring project status.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Secure orders from existing and potential customers by means of visiting the customer facility or contacting by phone.
- Secures opportunities to quote on customer requirements.
- Follows up (by phone or visit) on quotations submitted to customers.
- Establishes professional customer/vendor relationships with appropriate customer personnel (purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, management, and other key personnel).
- Direct activities in an effort to service accounts and penetrate new accounts.
- Drive the development of long term supply agreements and strategic initiatives.
- Reporting status of projects and interaction with customers to manufacturing and management.
- Report on key customers, upcoming launches and service opportunities.
- Develop and present monthly sales plan to effectively penetrate designated territory.
- Prepare and present monthly sales reports, trends, additional opportunities and obstacles to retention and new business growth.
- Modify sales and retention strategies and plans to ensure optimal business outcomes and ‘win-win’ results.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of medical related OEM device field.
- Proven customer service skills that develop and maintain existing customer base while attracting new customers within designated territory.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with fluency to ensure the professional exchange of information and expectations.
- Ability to develop key interdepartmental relationships with manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, and customer service to effectively communicate customer expectations and delivery times dedicated to the company’s commitment to 100% customer satisfaction.
- Ability to comprehend and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced environment while implementing key global corporate strategies specific to the spine market.
- Ability to verbally articulate product details, manufacturing capabilities and technical information to existing and potential Symmetry customers.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree. Preferrably in Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering.
- A minimum of 3 years related orthopedic/spine sales experience to the OEM market.
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Outside sales experience with a proven record of success and of regularly exceeding quota and top rankings.
- Proven leadership, management, people and team development skills.
- Strong strategic / budget development, planning, and analytical ability
- Travel required – utilize effective travel practices.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent written, oral, organization and computer skills.
