About the Company

Our client is a small privately owned magazine, online and event media company. They publish of a number of market leading B2B and B2C brands .The company has been recognised with a number of awards including publisher of the year and brand development of the year.

The Role

The Sales Manager is responsible for maximising advertising, sponsorship and content revenue across their telecoms print, online, and live events portfolio in order to achieve business targets. Establish and develop commercial relationships with new and existing clients to maximise revenue across the brand.


Responsibilities

Managing agreed commercial/sales accounts on the brand – maximising revenues and developing service strategies for client direct advertisers, advertising agencies and PRs.

Developing new business - source new sales and convert them into regular revenue streams.

Drive forward and take full responsibility for program of specials revenue streams.

Initiate, develop, sell and oversee the successful execution of a range of sponsored activities such as advertisement features competitions in print and online

Develop key client relationships at appropriate level of seniority to maximise spend across the portfolio.

Produce/achieve/ exceed sales forecasts targets.

Work with the Head of Sales to develop a clear sales strategy in line with company targets.

Administer and provide analysis of market share reports for all brands for volume and value.

Work with other members of the team in the creation and execution of new revenue generating activity (e.g. working with editorial on sponsored features)

To take responsibility for specific tasks as requested by Head of Sales.

Take full responsibility for managing flat plans for the magazines.

Projecting sales on a weekly and monthly basis.

Understanding the markets in which the products operate, including up to date monitoring and assessment of competitive media

Liaise with production and editorial to ensure the smooth running of the websites and other projects


Skills Required

Good experience of media sales with a proven track record of revenue generation

Good agency and client contacts

Strong management skills

Demonstrable commercial acumen (an ability to spot new areas of opportunity)

Ability to create and run multiple campaigns while retaining a new business focus

Results-driven

Self - starting entrepreneurial

Strong proven networking and negotiation skills

Creative, innovative and strategic thinking

Good operator, with the ability to work and communicate at all levels
