Overview:


The primary responsibility of this role is to sell Thomson Reuters Investment Management desktop product suite to a defined territory made up of Investment Management Face to Face (F2F) Accounts.  The territory will likely include F2F accounts that are assigned to other business segments such as Wealth Management, Investment Banking, Trading and Majors.
 
Responsibilities:


The Client Specialist- Business Development is responsible for new business development within a defined named account territory - prospecting/cold calling for new clients to Thomson Reuters and developing new business opportunities within existing customer account relationships by expanding into new strategies and customer groups for a specific customer workflow. Through the deployment of a consultative sales process, the Client Specialist- Business Development is accountable for identifying, attracting, qualifying, proposing potential Thomson Reuters solutions, and driving/accelerating sales closings to achieve gross sales targets.  The appropriate candidate will be expected to work very closely with internal resources in order to optimize selling to assigned accounts.  This will require establishing strong relationships with Account Managers, Client Specialists as well as the Regional Business Managers from the Investment Management Division.  A high level of client interaction is required to achieve the assigned sales target.  A minimum of 24 face to face client meetings per month is required.  Opportunity creation is critical at all times.  It is expected that new sales opportunities are created at the rate of at least three times (3X) the monthly sales target.  Keeping current on all INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT products is paramount.  Self-led as well as instructor led courses will be required in order to maintain the appropriate level of product knowledge to effectively sell.

Qualifications:
* At least five years selling desktop or research related products to the INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT community. 
* Strong business development and prospecting skills in a consultative selling environment. 
* Effective organizational and planning skills. 
* Strong negotiation and problem solving skills. 
* History of sales success in a team selling environment. 




Education:
Undergraduate degree required or equivalent experience.




Desired Skills:
It would be ideal if the candidate had expert knowledge of all (most) of the Thomson Reuters Investment Management desktop suite of products.  Advanced degree (MBA) or industry credentials (CFA) preferred.
