SALES SPECIALIST, COLUMBUS

 
The role of the Sales Specialist is to provide field support to Mars Drinks North American distributors in order to drive expansion in the single-serve markets and achieve established growth targets in both brewers and drinks.   The productivity of the distributors' sales teams will be directly impacted by programs developed and implemented at the market level by the Sales Specialist.  Programs will include business-to-business sales training, Mars Drinks product knowledge training, lead generation, field accompaniment, and national local marketing program implementation and management.
 
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:     
 
· Support the strategies and plans of the Sales Managers by executing training and programs at specified distributorships.
· Provide expertise in all stages of the business-to-business sales cycle as it pertains to Mars Drinks single-serve products and systems.
· Demonstrate the Mars Drinks culture-business ownership, customer centricity and a passion for drinks-both internally and externally.
· Support the selling process in the marketplace through field accompaniment including cold calls, initial appointments, product demonstrations and assistance with closing the sale.
· Train and develop distributor sales representatives on all stages of the business-to-business sales cycle and Mars Drinks product knowledge.  Provide ongoing training as identified through field observations.
· Support and execute incentives/programs to motivate the distributor sales teams and drive activity and conversion in the marketplace.
· Gather and communicate market intelligence including competitor activity and market trends in order to facilitate the development of strategies to capture future mutual opportunities.
· Support National Marketing programs at the local level. 
· Enter pertinent field activity into the Mars Drinks CRM database for effective distributor management and activity tracking.
· Develop and maintain Top 10 account pipeline to drive sales in alignment with our distributors.
· Develop and manage key relationships with distributor sales team members.
· Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

Education and Experience:
· College degree or equivalent experience
· 1-2+ years direct, business to business sales experience preferred
· Understand selling in an indirect market
· Training proficiency including coaching and developing
· Communication skills both oral and written
· Ability to work independently
