Brief Description

 

Position Charter Experience

 

Responsible for Vertafore sales training. Core responsibilities include the assessment of organizational needs, curriculum design and implementation of programs that facilitate the on-boarding of Vertafore’s Sales team; collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and internal customers/partners to identify opportunities and deliver training solutions to meet those needs.

Key Accountabilities

 

Sales Trainer position responsibilities include:

 

·         Plan, coordinate develop and deliver sales on-boarding training programs including applicable sales tools, methodologies and procedures.

·         Coordinate preparation of instructional materials, training aids, handouts, evaluation forms, and visual aids for current and future training sessions

·         Develop and plan course curricula with business partners with an emphasis on sales and account management skills, product and industry knowledge critical for new employees.

·         Follow instructional design process from needs assessment through evaluation. Utilize expertise of business partners and team members to develop appropriate materials, instructional content and delivery mechanisms that are applicable based on experience/knowledge levels (Basic, Intermediate and Advanced levels)

·         Leverage established and effective sales training methods, techniques, and ideas.

·         Work collaboratively with sales managers and reports on progress of sales trainees and employees under guidance during initial and ongoing training periods.

·         Contact employee pre- and post-training event as appropriate to ensure successful training experience.

·         Maintain records of training activities to augment employee development programs.

·         Monitor effectiveness of programs by measuring achievement against sales quotas, individual seller and manager feedback and on-going needs assessment.

 

Professional Technical Competencies

 

·         Proficient with Microsoft Office products.

·         Experience with creation of full life cycle sales training plans sales training materials.

·         Excellent knowledge of sales training principles, techniques, and tools such as ‘train the trainer’ and e-learning.

·         Excellent planning, time management, communication, negotiation, leadership, decision-making, presentation, organization, and interpersonal skills.

·         Ability to multi-task, work independently and work in a team environment with minimal supervision.

·         Skill in developing sales training programs and curriculum to meet individual and group needs and to adapt programs/curriculum to changing organizational priorities.

·         Project management skills, e.g. setting objectives, coordinating resources, and meeting project deadlines.

·         Ability to execute sales training function objectives, goals and plans.

·         Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

 

General Business

 

·         Understanding of general business issues including external factors that impact the business and industry.

·         Demonstrated ability to follow sound business ethics when executing job responsibilities to build and maintain management confidence.

·         Strong technical skills – Word, Excel, MS Office, PowerPoint

 

Experience

 

·         Minimum 2 years sales experience in a high-tech environment

·         1-3 years training experience to large groups

·         Experience with best of breed sales methodologies; experience with Customer Centric Selling experience preferred.

 

Education Requirements    

 

·         Bachelor's degree required
