This is a unique opportunity to become a key member of the Retail Credit Risk Internal Audit Team. To be successful within the role it requires specialist retail credit risk experience plus a willingness to develop as an SME. Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills are also key.

This role requires a Retail Credit Risk professional who is looking to broaden their product coverage across Retail, Wealth, and Cards credit portfolio. The aim of this role is to give the candidate a chance to work with management  highest level, enable them to get a much more holistic view, and promote into senior management in the business within 2-3 years. Key Accountabilities

•Builds powerful relationships with all key business stakeholders in order to bring about continuous improvements to the effectiveness of credit risk management, in particular unsecured loans and portfolio analysis.
•Writes compelling audit reports which are succinct but clearly bring out key headline points.
•In-depth understanding of all changes to the bank’s strategy and business objectives and industry, market and regulatory changes in order to understand the impact on risk and controls, in particular credit risk.
•Leads plans and delivers a range of complex/sensitive risk-based audit engagements within defined resource, cost, time and quality parameters.
•Adds value to the bank by selecting the most appropriate methodology for each audit engagement, providing the challenge required to gain the commitment of stakeholders to implement any required improvements in governance, risk management and internal controls.
•Works collaboratively with the wider Audit team to provide the coaching and/or other support required to ensure the delivery of audit engagements in line with the audit plan.
•Supports the development of a high performing audit function by taking responsibility for personal development and acting on feedback received; supports the development of colleagues by sharing technical expertise through coaching and providing timely and honest feedback.

Key Capabilities

•Delivery of constructive challenge and candid feedback to stakeholders whilst maintaining effective relationships with the business.
•Able to build effective stakeholder relationships in particular with credit risk technical experts by talking the same language and influencing on complex issues.
•You will have extensive retail credit risk experience – ideally within unsecured loans and portfolio analysis or strategy.
•Proven knowledge and practical experience across some of the following areas: credit risk appetite, strategy, decision-making and MI; core consumer credit products; impairment and arrears management; credit policies and application of retail credit risk management control framework.
•Experience of the internal ratings based approach to credit risk including: quantification of risk parameters/measures; rating system methodology; rating assignment process; validation procedures; stress testing methodologies; use test requirements for internal risk management purposes; internal governance and oversight arrangements; data and documentation integrity and maintenance; IT infrastructure; and CRR / regulatory requirement
