SAMS-IE Systems Analyst II Job in Schofield Barracks 96786, Hawaii US
This position reports to the Project Manager and is responsible for applying systems analysis and design techniques to the Standard Army Maintenance System - Installation Enhancement (SAMS-IE) system in broad areas such as maintenance management, logistics planning, financial accounting and reporting. Basic functions of the job: Application of knowledge and experience in the information technology field in support of a US Army garrison and field maintenance source of repair. Applicant is a technically experienced information technology (IT) technician with ability to adjust to a dynamic environment and responsibly execute duties as a "privileged user" with access to Government computers and supporting network.
* Provides local and reach-back Government support for SAMS-IE operations and training in support of operators and managers
* Interfaces with Government Systems Administrators for hardware support and software upgrades
* Maintains and modifies complex hardware/software support systems
* Produces relevant ad-hoc query templates for project and Government managers
* Advises and guides users and managers in formulating requirements
* Analyzes and problem-solves software-hardware-operational conflicts that impact or are affected by SAMS-IE
* Conducts systems and functions analyses concerned with routine technological or programmatic aspects of systems support including integration, test and evaluation, development, procurement, production, operations, modification, modernization, acquisition, planning and logistics
* Conducts reviews and analyses of routine technological and/or programmatic requirements, specifications and related documentation
* Prepares inputs for, and participates in, planning and status reviews
* Assists in the review and analysis of technological or programmatic change documentation and provides recommendations
* Participates in the preparation of inputs for cost, schedule and/or technical projections
* Performs task level liaison and coordination with coworkers, supervisors, managers and customer representatives
* Provides liaison duties between the BAE Systems users and the government's Information Management Officer (IMO) in all automation
* Issues to include, but not be limited to the configuration/setup, security, and troubleshooting of software and hardware problems
* Maintains accountability of computers, printers, and various automation peripherals
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
* Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or closely related field (waiverable based on experience)
* Three years experience with a Standard Army Management Information Systems (STAMIS) or other military maintenance management systems
* Possess a valid state driver's license
* Able to obtain and maintain SECRET security clearance
* Proficiency in basic networking principles (TCP/IP) and how they are applied within the Army network system
* Proficiency in basic Windows operating systems to include, but not limited to, Vista and XP operating systems as well as Windows Server.
