We have an immediate need for a SAN Storage Consultant

Job Description:

1) Candidate must possess technical working knowledge of IBM SAN/NAS and/or Premium Team equipment/software products. Technical working knowledge is defined as in-depth understanding of the operation and function of the equipment/products/processes and procedures and the ability to identify and provide resolution. Examples of the equipment type(s)/method(s) or processes are:

The Candidate will support software configuration of the following IBM storage systems, switches and software:

2105 Enterprise Storage Server
DS3000
DS4000
DS5000
DS6000
DS8000
SAN Volume Controller
Tivoli Storage Productivity Center
Brocade/McData SAN switches
Data Center Fabric Manager
IBM Tape Drives and Libraries

The Candidate should be familiar with configuring the above storage subsystems into AIX, Windows, and Linux Operating Systems. The Candidate should be able to install/configure/troubleshoot all the above SAN products.
The Candidate will be responsible for analyzing errors for all the above devices.
The Candidate will need soft/hard zoning skills to configure the above switches.
Shell scripting/programming in an AIX/UNIX environment is a plus.

2) The Candidate should possess strong communication and verbal soft skills which facilitates a positive interaction with the customer. Communications skills should incorporate the following:
Confidence Professionalism
Dealing with Customer Conflict and Confrontation
Executing Dynamic Interpersonal Communications with customers, IBM management and coworkers.
Ability to communicate technical information to customers in a way that is easily understood
3) The Candidate should have the SAN/NAS and/or Premium technical field background and/or experience which can provide hardware/software problem solving skills, and should be capable of discussing technical situations and scenarios with the end-user, customers, and IBM management.
4) The Candidates experience should include the minimum experience/education requirement(s) specified by the Procurement Skill Level requested in the BOND/CSA request.

Location: Dallas, TX
Duration: 12 months (Possible extension)
