International Bank seeks AVP, Sanctions Payments to join its Banking Operations business. This unit provides payment services including monitoring the OFAC hits queue and either “waive” or “confirm” the transaction and more.
The successful candidate will oversee a small team and have hands-on responsibilies, for example -
· Perform the daily review of payment transactions filtered through the Prime OFAC Reporter
· Ensure that all transactions comply with the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations.
· Review and action (waive or confirm) all payment items on the Prime OFAC queue.
· Identify repetitive false hits and refer to department management (for possible exclusion).
· Work in tandem with other OFAC payments operators to ensure dual control via the system.
Banking Operations has a high degree of interaction with Group Compliance and candidates will therefore need the interpersonal and communication skills to work closely with Compliance on transactions that require more in-depth review.
