Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a SAP BASIS ANALYLYST, GLOBAL IT at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

This SAP Basis Analyst position, which is part of the Enterprise Applications Delivery organization, has responsibilities to provide overall leadership for the delivery of new SAP services, delivery and maintenance of existing SAP services, problem management and meeting SLAs for all our SAP systems across Global IT. This is a very technical position and requires expertise in managing and resolving complex issues. This area encompasses all SAP systems (i.e., ERP, HR, APO, GTS, BW, SAP Portal, CRM, SRM, Vendavo, Realtech Solution Manager).

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

This position is accountable for the following end results:

-Provide leadership implement new SAP services per project requirements ensure quality and reliability of new IT solutions and existing services through product quality assurance, release plan, solution and landing processes.
-Deliver and maintain existing services effectively, problem management and meet SLAs for the SAP areas working.
-Provides Technical Leadership for any SAP Significant and Major Incidents.
-Responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of the Basis component of SAP systems and will assist in the planning,designing architecting of SAP systems across a variety of platforms and database.
-Continuously drive sustainable operational excellence in the areas of optimizing services and work processes, improving quality and reliability (reduce incidents, defects and waste) and lowering total delivery costs.
-Works closely with Capacity Management team to ensure appropriate capacity planning actions are taken for reliable SAP service
-Works closely with our infrastructure teams in implementing new infrastructure products. For example: Virtualization, Storage Replacement, Disastor Recovery, OS upgrades, SQL Server upgrades, etc…
-Drive service reliability, IT improvements and IT-initiated CI events resulting in productivity improvements (projects or work requests).
-Manage work activity of contractors and outsourcing engagement resources.
-Define and implement effective and efficient support models and processes.
-Successfully land new solutions work with our outsource partner effectively.
-Provide leadership execute SAP upgrades/releases(including support/enhancement pack implementations).
-Ensure regulatory and legal compliance.
-Develop and foster relationships with external contacts.
-Understand IT vendor directions for area of competency.
-Partner with business support functions to use existing business systems more effectively and efficiently.
-Provide product/life cycle, vendor and contract management for applications supported.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS or BA degree in business, engineering, mathematics, computer science or related field or equivalent education, technical training and experience.
• 10 years IT experience or comparable Business experience with a focus on IT.
• Strong SAP knowledge is required.
• Should be a quick learner and eager to learn new SAP technologies.
• Strong influencing, communication, change management and facilitative skills.
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork and coaching skills.
• Strong vendor relationship and product management skills.
• Ability to effectively manage applications across multiple technologies.
• Project Management experience with small to medium size projects.
• Continuous improvement mindset.
• Thorough understanding of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) service delivery methodology.
• Ability to work effectively across Global IT and the business functional areas.
• Good understanding of overall Global IT processes and practices.
• Understanding of IT Risk, Compliance and Security Policies.
