This individual will initially be assigned to the Basis/Security Technical team for a global manufacturing project and be expected to learn the designed solution/strategies and contribute to the continued progress of the project through implementation. Upon implementation, this individual will be the primary Basis/Security person at the Charlotte plant responsible for supporting the delivered solution from a North Amercian regional perspective, but also be a global basis team member responsible for supporting global initiatives. Job Responsibilities: - Travel 30% (North America and Europe) during the project but during Testing and Go Live it will be closer to 50%. When we move to a support mode it will go back down to 20% or less. - Monitor daily system performance / capacities and coordinate with appropriate IT partners on global team regarding recommendations and system changes. - Provide day to day support for IT and Business customers: - Investigate / resolution of remote connection failures, process session bottlenecks, authorization errors and recommendations - Perform transport management functions and other authorized technical functions - Lead or assist in building, testing, documenting, deploying and supporting technical processes and procedures regarding SAP: - Backup, Disaster Recovery, High Availability and system copies/refreshes, Kernel and Hotpack upgrades - Capacity planning for system resources DASD, OS, CPU, and SAP App Server Requirements - Load balancing across complex SAP Landscapes and integrated SAP products (BI, PPM, MES, APO, etc) - Best practices for performance tuning - Extensive leadership/assistance in Compliance initiatives: - Designing, documenting, executing and reviewing appropriate Change Management processes associated with SAP environments - Supporting recurring test cycles - Evidence gathering to support cross-process test cycles - Supporting divisional initiatives from corporate perspective may require recurring travel to North American Corporate Headquarters - Plan and communicate with other IT/SAP areas (Functional and Development) in multiple projects in parallel. Work Experience: - 3-8 years of substantial SAP Basis and Security experience in a large SAP implementation. - 3+ years of Compliance support/lead activities including process/procedure definition, documentation, control evidence gathering, etc. - Significant understanding of Basis and Security components and best practices in a SAP ECC and/or SAP R/3 system. - Significant experience in Change Management Processes/procedures - Proven experience in SAP Solution Manager - Experience working with the SAP Project Teams to understand project needs and work with Data Center Hosting Provider to translate those into technical infrastructure requirements. - Experience providing guidance to or take direction from other Basis team members on system administration functions such as performance tuning, system monitoring, upgrade of Support Packages. - Leadership of security effort during a major application deployment, and business / client contact and communication skills are desired - Background on relational database, operating systems, and networks is desirable. Non-technical skills: - Strong multi-tasking, organizational and prioritizing skills - Strong communication skills with business partners. (Must be able to present one ??s self well and comfortably in front of customers) - Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot under pressure. - Ability to share knowledge, lead and mentor less experienced analysts. .
