SAP Business Configurer Job in Coventry, Midlands UK

Job Description:

Role Objective:

The Business Configurer is responsible for ensuring business processes and requirements are enabled and supported within assigned SAP module/s by providing configuration and functional expertise.

Key Accountabilities:

• Configures SAP ECC, CRM, SRM, other SAP components and other applications system settings according to business requirements and document all configuration changes.
• Manages Master Data business change requests which have an impact on configuration.
• Creates and maintains Master Data objects and configuration for approved changes and ensures mapping tables for SAP and/or interfaces are updated to enable any new builds or transports.
• Assesses process requirements and suggest further enhancements and improvements to address business need.
• Conducts impact analysis of new requests and supports SAP business change control process.
• Be part of the SAP CCC team providing 2nd and 3rd Level SAP configuration and business process support to the business users under supervision of a senior member (Solution Owner).
• Responsible for Triaging of Incidents and Change Requests, as per established SLA's.
• Understands process mapping and possesses business process knowledge for his / her respective stream (Finance / Procurement / HR / Programme Project delivery/ Water Waste operations and maintenance). This should include maintenance of the Corporate process models in Casewise.
• Supports the Solution Owners and Business Analysts and interface with business users during the SAP Configuration activities.
• Develops functional specifications and liaise with the technical team (ABAP, BW, Netweaver / XI) during development or defect fixing activities.
• As per the agreed transition plan, supports transition from Project team to support, as and when any project / enhancement is moved to production, providing inputs to Solution Owner for a successful sign off.
• Produce, review and maintain documents which detail the design of the solution for all applications supported by CCC.
• Has an understanding of roles and user access design to enable identification of impact of change requests.
• Support 'Release management' process in cases as and when inputs are required.
• Support user acceptance testing, as part of the incident / service request resolution process.
• Coordinate with fellow configurers from other SAP CCC teams.
• Support delivery of Change Request solutions, as defined by the Solutions Owner, Solutions Manager or the CCC Manager.

Experience:

In order to succeed in this role it is expected that you will have:
• SAP R/3 or ECC experience in appropriate module(s)
• Functional or Domain experience, having worked in the UK Utility industry.
• A good business knowledge of both Utilities, the business operation and specific business area and processes to the SAP module/s supporting.
