The Chicago Branch of Harvey Nash is hiring multiple SAP NetWeaver resources (5 in total) for a contract engagement at a client site in Lake Forest, Illinois.  The contract is slated to commence immediately and run through the end of the year, at a minimum.  There is some possibility of extension.  An overview of the position follows:

 

OVERVIEW:

 

The consultant will be responsible for supporting daily work and maintaining system availability.

·        SRM-MDM experience is required

·        Interact on a daily basis with other process and technical groups including Unix, Linux, Solaris, and Windows system administrators, information/data security, networking, Data Center Operations, and application developers to maintain application uptime and availability

·        Utilize standard SAP, Oracle, SQL, Informix, DB2, MaxDB/SAPDB databases, Unix, Linux, Solaris and Windows performance tools to analyze and tune system performance

·        Requires heavy interaction with other technical groups including developers, information/data security, networking, and Data Center operations

 

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

·        Minimum of 3 – 5 years SAP (ABAP and J2EE) experience with Unix, Linux, Solaris, or Windows Application support

·        Practical experience with a minimum of 3 of the following: ECC 6.0, CRM 7.0, BW 7.0, BOBJ, BIA, E-Recruiting, EWM 7.0, GTS, SCM, SRM, XI, Solution Manager, Portal, SRM-MDM

·        Deliver defined service level capabilities across multiple development and production landscapes to meet customer requirements

·        Maintain and manage the infrastructure software product (installation, configuration, upgrading / patching, troubleshooting and tuning) as needed and/or as required by our software vendors

·        Verify (and assist when necessary) required maintenance is performed on the related operating system software and hardware in a timely and proactive manner

·        Understand and use Unix, Linux, Solaris and Windows-based scripting and programming languages (J2EE, ABAP, VB, .net and Java, etc.) in support tasks and problem solving

·        Identify and implement system improvements as needed

·        Manage system documentation as required to ensure the complete and timely maintenance of all internal systems

·        Must have the ability to multi-task in a very fast-paced environment

 

TECHNICAL PLUSES:

·        Familiarity with computing infrastructures, including Data Security, Help Desk, Operations, Network Computing, Data Base and Application Development

·        Strong problem analysis, determination, and resolution skills and techniques

·        Ability to use standard SAP, Unix, Linux, Solaris, and Windows performance tools to analyze and tune system performance

·        Knowledge of application specific languages, especially J2EE, Java, and/or ABAP Excellent teamwork, communication (verbal and written) and documentation skills required

·        Ability to be a self-starter and to take initiative in critical situations

·        Demonstrated ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.

·        Time management skills to balance priorities and deliver assignments on time and within budget
