NEST is a new workplace pension scheme designed specifically to meet the needs of a target audience largely new to pension saving. NEST is easy to use for members and their employers.

NEST Corporation is the Trustee of the scheme responsible for its day-to-day running. It’s a non-departmental public body independent of government but accountable to Parliament through the Department for Work and Pensions.

Departmental overview

The Scheme Operations Team is led by the Head of Scheme Operations and is part of the Scheme Development Directorate. Within this Directorate there are three departments:

 

Communications and Engagement – focus areas include Corporate Affairs, Market Analysis, Audience and Channel Strategy and Distribution

Policy – focus areas include Policy Development and Transition, Product Management, Product Design, Customer Experience and e-Business

Operations – focus areas include Scheme Operations, Investment Operations and Product Design.

Job title and overview

Scheme Operations Analyst

Reporting to the Customer Service Manager within Scheme Operations, this role will be responsible for dealing with case work and improving processes as well as providing support to the whole team.

Role deliverables

The successful candidate will be accountable for:

• overseeing and co-ordinating the effective communication of operational processes to relevant stakeholders

• providing support to the Customer Service Manager on processes for NEST Corporation casework for example, late payments, complaints and disputes, retirements and death cases

• providing support to the Customer Service Manager in developing our NEST Corporation operations manual

• reviewing the content of service providers’ operations manuals

• supporting the production of materials and the running of Scheme Operations governance groups

• monitoring the cyclical events calendar

• monitoring the team group email box and ensuring issues are distributed efficiently

• supporting and developing planning activities for Scheme Operations.

Candidate requirements

Experience required

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• some experience in an operational role within financial services, experienced gained within pension scheme administration would be advantageous

• good verbal and written communication skills in order to represent Scheme Operations to service providers and within NEST Corporation

• demonstrated ability to work closely and co-operatively with the business and other support departments.

• ability to highlight the important information from a large volume of data

• analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education/qualification requirements

The successful candidate is expected to have at least one of the following:

• relevant industry experience

• a 2:1 or above degree in a numerical subject
