Scientist – Drug Discovery - Pharmacogenomics
Department of Drug Disposition invites applicants for an associate scientist for the Drug Disposition Pharmacogenomics team. The scientist will be responsible for utilizing in vitro systems and modeling methods to understand the impact of variant alleles of drug metabolizing enzymes and transporters on the disposition of drugs. The successful candidate will also help compound teams incorporate ADME genetics into clinical development plans.
KEY OBJECTIVES/DELIVERABLES:
- Develop and validate in vitro systems to evaluate the impact of metabolizing enzymes and transporter genetic variants on the human disposition of drugs
- Evaluate the influence of genetic variants of drug metabolizing enzymes and transporters in in vitro systems
- Aid in the development and application of In Vitro to In Vivo prediction models to study the role of drug metabolizing enzymes and transporter genetic variants on the pharmacokinetics of drug candidates
- Work with senior scientists to incorporate ADME genetics into the clinical plans of drug candidates
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- B.S. or M.S in biochemistry, pharmacology, molecular biology, genetics or related fields
- 1-2 years of laboratory experience
- Excellent documentation skills, excellent communication skills, and must demonstrate capabilities of working in team-oriented environment
- Qualified candidate must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this position.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS/PREFERENCES:
- Knowledge in enzyme or transport kinetics
- Understanding of pharmacokinetics and drug disposition
- Experience in DNA/RNA isolation, PCR and cloning
