SCIENTIST II, CHEMICAL DEVELOPMENT PROCESS RESEARCH
Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc. has an opening in Ridgefield, Connecticut for a Scientist II, Chemical Development Process Research.
Perform routine lab duties w/out supervision participate or assist in the design execution of non-routine experiments. Independently operate take responsibility for lab equipment troubleshoot effectively. Gather interpret experimental data propose appropriate follow-up experiments w/ minimal assistance. Contribute to writing protocols, procedures, reports publications. Work in a cross-functional team environment and develop awareness of process economics, timelines, environmental (green chemistry) process safety issues.
Must possess at least a master's or its equivalent in Chemical Engineering or a related field. In the alternative, a bachelor's or its equivalent in Chemical Engineering or a related field at least 2 years of prior work experience as a Process Engineer would be acceptable. Must also possess college coursework, project /or work experience w/ performing routine lab duties w/out supervision participating in the design execution of non-routine experiments; operation, calibration qualification of lab equipment writing operating procedures/protocols; designing experiments for manufacturing of API intermediates, w/ the emphasis on the economics, cycle time, green chemistry principles, process safety operability issues; performing work in compliance w/ safety applicable regulations in cGMP environment maintaining proper records in accordance w/ SOPs policies; demonstrated knowledge of scaleup operation equipment in pharmaceutical API manufacturing. Any suitable combination of education, training /or experience would be acceptable.
