Scientist I/II located in Emeryville, CA! This is a 6 Month Contract Position! Duties: Experience with protein purification and characterization required. The candidate should have recent hands-on experience with various protein purification, and characterization methods.working with recovery of proteins derived from yeast and/or E. coli with 10 L maximum harvest volume Experience with AKTA, and other analytical methods such as UV, SDS PAGE, Western blot, and ELISA required. Experience working on process improvements is highly desirable. Capable of working with limited supervision on multiple projects. Reports to Principal Scientist Education: BS/MS degree, PhD Recent graduate acceptable. Maximum of 5 years experience in purification process development in biotechnology companies Skills: Must have previous experience in chromatography large or small scale. Must know general protein biochemical techniques. Must have experience with buffer preparation. Candidate should have experience with Excel, Word, Softmax Pro and UNICORN.
