Research Opportunity: Tumor Immunology and Tumor Stem Cells UCSF           
       

            A specalist/postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Helen Diller Comprehensive Cancer Center, UCSF Division of Hematology/Oncology. This NIH-funded project represents a unique opportunity to define subpopulations of tumor macrophages in patients with lymphoid tumors and to develop blood-based biomarker assays. Our multidisciplinary approach involves the analysis of tumor specimens from patients as well as the implementation of transgenic mouse models.   In addition, we are evaluating novel markers of tumor stem cell populations.  Motivation, attention to detail, initiative as well as the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team are critical.  Skills: flow-cytometry, molecular biology, cell culture, preclinical therapeutics.  Recent references:  J Clin Oncol. 2008;26(1):96-105.
