Scientist/Sr Scientist

Lancaster Laboratories, a nationally recognized laboratory, is searching for a Scientist/Senior Scientist to support our Professional Scientific Staffing group in Seattle, WA.

Scientist/Sr Scientist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

·Support the analysis of reference material and comparability assessments

·Utilize an array of analytical techniques to develop recombinant proteins and monoclonal antibodies

·Perform HPLC and UPLC analysis as well as electrophoretic assays to support the development of release assays

·Perform qualification of assays such as rCE-SDS, SEC, CEX, HILIC, transfer to quality control labs

·Characterization of charge and size profile of protein therapeutic molecules by mass spectrometry

·Perform stressed stability and forced degradation studies

·Document all practices and procedures according to GMP guidelines

The ideal candidate would possess:

·Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills

·Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail; excellent project management skills including the ability to manage ones project resource requirements (material, manpower, time, etc.), and ability to elevate relevant issues to project lead and line-management

·Ability to work independently and as part of a team with internal and external clients, self‑motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude

·Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies

·Experience with common modes of electrophoretic separation such as capillary electrophoresis (CE) and cIEF

·Experience with chromatographic separation such as size exclusion, reversed phase, and ion exchange

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

·B.S. in Chemistry or related science plus 3 years related experience, or M.S. plus 1 year

·Experience working with large molecule HPLC/UPLC analysis

·Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed.  Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Seattle, Washington are encouraged to apply.
