The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for day-to-day supplier management, incoming materials supply, planning of the manufacturing plants production and customer delivery communications.
Key requirements of the role include assuring the availability and continuity of material supply as required achieving sales forecasts and customer delivery performance expectations.
The holder of this position will be responsible for planning (SIOP), demand management, MRP system activities within the Material Planning team, scheduling of the internal and external supply chains, supplier on time delivery and inventory forecasting and achievement of profit plan targets working closely with the Customer Services function to optimize customer service.
Essential Functions of the role include:
Member of the plant management team responsible for the achievement of plant and functional objectives and strategic planning for the Material Management function.
To lead the plant Materials Planning, Stores and Dispatch teams with responsibility for team development and people management, thereby enhancing departmental performance and building organizational capability
Responsible for the master production schedule, the scheduling of manufacturing and the external supply base. Responsible for the management and improvement of the MRP processes and procedures.
Responsible for Supplier on time delivery performance in order to achieve business requirements.
Works closely with the Customer Services function to optimize customer service and packaging / logistics cost-out opportunities.
Manage inventory (DOH) to meet business requirements.
Work with the Hydraulics SCM group to achieve plant cost down goals, support re-sourcing strategies / projects, aligned to commodity strategies and to participate / conduct supplier review activities
Implement and manage pull production techniques for purchased parts (Kanban, consignment, VMI…)
Manage ramp up / ramp down phase 5 of sourcing process working closely with suppliers and the Hydraulics SCM group.
Develop positive ethical relationships with suppliers and partners.
Adhere to Eaton standard sourcing process and divisional operating procedures. Manage supplier compliance with Eaton Corporate initiatives
Participate in plant and supplier QOS processes and improvement initiatives.
Interface with EMEA SCM / SIOP Manager; Co-ordinate inventory levels and management utilizing the SIOP process to optimize plant performance and forecasting.
Degree educated or equivalent through experience, ideally CIPS qualified.
Broad manufacturing industry experience.
Experience and knowledge of ERP MRP systems (preferably MFG Pro).
Material scheduling experience.
Ability to lead, manage and develop teams and individuals.
Strong negotiation skills.
Results and detailed oriented with analytical skills.
