The Search Engine Marketing Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for matters related to paid search marketing on Google, Yahoo!, Bing and other search engines. The SEM Manager will be responsible for the growth of sales in this channel in addition to providing support with new business initiatives such as creating and managing marketing test campaigns for new products and services. Qualified candidates must have played a significant role in other ROI-based marketing initiatives for consumer internet brands. This position requires a passion for metrics-driven marketing and the knowledge, abilities and skills to effectively compile, track, and analyze data using web based analytic and tracking tools, MS Excel, and enterprise data-mining applications. This position is located in Chantilly, VA.
Job Responsibilities:
- Understand business needs in order to grow search campaign by maximizing volume and margin of advertising campaigns while minimizing risk.
- Manage paid search budget and analyze marketing campaign performance to identify, prioritize and execute on opportunities for budget optimization and efficiency.
- Provide strategic oversight of paid search campaigns against defined success metrics for various products and services.
- Execute best practice strategies and methodologies to maximize company's paid search marketing programs with holistic coordination of multiple online marketing channels and on-site promotions, to ensure optimal timing, consistent messaging, and a superior customer experience.
- Administer daily operational tasks associated with search engine marketing.
- Analyze keyword library and expand appropriately by identifying new opportunities through data research and analysis.
- Create high quality text ads to drive traffic to the site for the company's products and services.
- Reconcile invoices received from third parties and incorporate with marketing budgets and vendor advertising support agreements.
- Plan and develop keyword lists and text creative, implementation, optimization, testing and performance analysis
- Complete detailed analysis to provide data-driven insights and weekly reporting of campaign performance via bid management and reporting tools
- Execute competitive research utilizing comprehensive tool sets
- Manage relationships with search engine vendors and other third parties on behalf of company.
- Responsible for developing, maintaining and distributing standardized reports, campaign performance reports, as well as adhoc management requests related to search engine marketing.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years PPC/ paid search marketing campaign management experience.
- Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Economics, Statistics, Information Technology or related field.
- Experience with major search engines and paid search networks.
- Understanding of key industry metrics (e.g. CPC, CTR, CPA, CPM, ROI, ROAS, Conversion Rate, etc.) and variables (e.g. Quality Score).
- Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and develop recommendations.
- Ability to grasp technical and business problems and be able to quickly formulate ideas with incomplete information.
- Strong MS Excel skills (macros, pivotal tables, formulas)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of tracking and analytics software, e.g. Google Analytics, IBM Coremetrcis, Webtrends Optimize, etc.
- Google AdWords certified a plus but not required.
- Ability to work effectively on concurrent, multiple tasks and projects
- Ability to work independently to manage projects and meet deadlines
- Experience working with SEO beneficial
