BASIC FUNCTION OF JOB

The SEC Reporting Manager is a corporate holding company (“IEI”) finance position reporting directly to the Vice President and Principal Accounting Officer of Insight Enterprises, Inc. (“the “Company”). The position is primarily responsible for supporting the Financial Reporting Department’s role in ensuring the Company’s periodic public filings are in compliance with SEC Rules and Regulations and United States generally accepted accounting principles (“GAAP”).

Requirements include, but are not limited to:

  1. SEC Reporting
    1. Support Financial Reporting Department in drafting Earnings Releases, Conference Call Scripts and supporting analysis as well as Quarterly Reports on Form 10-Q, Annual Reports on Form 10-K, Current Reports on Form 8-K and Proxy Statements.
    2. Manage instance document and review process for XBRL filings related to Quarterly Reports on Form 10-Q and Annual Reports on Form 10-K.
    3. Pro forma prior drafts of documents, updating and populating disclosures for review.
    4. Coordinate with Finance teams in the Company’s differing geographies and operating segments to obtain necessary financial information for disclosure.
    5. Stay current on changes to SEC and GAAP disclosure requirements for the Company’s periodic filings.
    6. Prepare quarterly certification package documenting the source of every number disclosed in the Company’s periodic filings with the SEC, ensuring a consistent standard of clear and concise documentation.
    7. Demonstrate a keen attention to detail to assist the Financial Reporting Department in ensuring the consistency of all financial information reported or disclosed.
    8. Review and ensure propriety of historical financial information included in Investor Relations presentations and other Company-prepared documents.
  2. GAAP Accounting Research
    1. As directed, research certain new or proposed accounting pronouncements to determine effect or potential effect on the Company’s current accounting treatment.
    2. Assist business with complying with accounting pronouncements.
    3. Draft memos for file on application of accounting treatment for material transactions.
  3. Prepare consolidation, including statement of cash flows.
  4. Prepare monthly and quarterly accounting support and related journal entries associated with equity-based compensation.
  5. Prepare annual analysis of potential goodwill impairment.
  6. Support IEI’s compliance with SOX 404 requirements for financial reporting, including administrative assistance in support of the operation of the Disclosure Committee and the performance and documentation of self-assessment of SOX controls.
  7. Provide assistance with special projects as requested by VP, Principal Accounting Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in accounting from four-year college or university. Certified public accountant (“CPA”) designation required.  See experience requirements in “Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Qualifications” above.

Any Other Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

CPA required.

SUPERVISION

Position currently does not have supervisory responsibilities other than the direction and ownership of tasks delegated to administrative staff at IEI.

Position reports to

Vice President, Principal Accounting Officer

Supervision Received

Daily tasks, work load and development monitored by Vice President, Principal Accounting Officer.  Once processes are established and record of quality work product is proven, outcomes-oriented supervision will prevail.

TRAINING

Person Responsible for Training / Specific Training Timeline and Requirements 

Employee will be trained by the Vice President, Principal Accounting Officer and via in-house training about the business and general management skills.

Employee will also be expected to perform technical research and attend Company-paid outside training as necessary to maintain CPA certification and to stay current on US GAAP pronouncements and SEC reporting developments that affect the Company.
