Section Manager – Retirement Plans Services Marketing recruitment
This Section Manager position is responsible for the development and execution of the strategic and tactical plans for the Retirement Plan Services Product Marketing and Development Team. This role will focus primarily on the Total Retirement Offering (401{k}, DB, and NQ) covering the $50 - $750mm+ segments. This role will oversee approximately five Lead Managers (grade 44) and be responsible for the overall performance and production of these individuals.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Production – This role is responsible for overseeing various projects in the pipeline and ensuring they are completed on time and to the satisfaction of the clients (both internal and external).
Planning – This role is responsible for actively contributing to the strategic direction of the business, from a TRP, RPS, Marketing, and Product standpoint. It will be important for this role to view things from an enterprise wide perspective when making strategic decisions.
Sales – This role will play an active role in the sales process with the goal of instilling confidence in the prospect that we have a strong product offering and that their participants will benefit from choosing TRP.
Accountability – This role will be responsible for effectively tracking data and creating monitoring key metrics to measure performance and promote accountability.
Segmentation – This role is responsible for understanding what influences our customers (e.g. Plan Sponsors, Participants, Intermediaries) and drives their behavior. It will be important for this role to have a firm grasp on digital technology as a means to communicate and interact with customers.
Research – This role is responsible for understanding the current product environment at the market level, including the competitor landscape.
QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred
- MBA with 10 years financial services and retirement services experience
Required
- College degree and 8 years of related work experience
- Demonstrated ability to drive strategic planning initiatives and provide an integrated point-of-view, driven by in-depth customer, competitive and market understanding and insights, to help formulate short and long-term business strategies
- Strong collaborator
- Strong interpersonal skills – must be cooperative and effectively deal with people and problem situations
- Demonstrated leadership experience in performance management, coaching and mentoring
- Extensive project management and product development experience
- Ability to influence others and work within a matrix management

- PC Skills – strong Word and Excel, and general PC knowledge
