Invertix Corporation is a technology company addressing complex research and development, engineering and management challenges in the mission areas of intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance; enterprise information technology, and communications mission systems serving the greater national security community. Invertix provides the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and the Intelligence Community (IC) with a full range of senior engineering and advisory services. Under this contract, Invertix assists DIA to mature the DoDIIS enterprise to enable the receipt of usable on-time information to the proper system for DoD IC and Combatant Commands. The DoDIIS Enterprise sets the standards for a strategic, integrated system-of-systems for intelligence systems and applications interoperability. Invertix is seeking a Senior Engineering and Technical Advisor (SETA) to advise on Secured Cloud ETL issues. This position is a hands-on, technical position with a leadership role in the Intelligence Community. This position requires an active TS/SCI clearance. The ideal candidate will have a diverse background in various cloud data integration technologies. The candidate will have a solid architectural background and a firm grasp on the various database architectures for Online Transaction Processing (OLTP), Operational Data Store (ODS) and Data Warehouse databases. Additionally, the candidate will have experience working with application architects and engineers to optimize cloud data access paths while at the same time maintaining solid structural integrity, security requirements, and performance for integrating with backend data stores. The candidate will also possess excellent communication and presentation skills that are required for socializing technical concepts and building consensus. RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform hands-on application integration data engineering tasks in the development of application integration solutions that involve complex, large-scale, (multi-terabyte size) data footprints leveraging Cloud and ETL technologies Advise government customers regarding innovative ETL solutions. Perform capacity planning activities as related to application usage of resources that include storage, CPU, memory and network utilization Optimize the ETL environments with respect to data access methods, access performance, storage, data integrity, system performance and system availability Work closely with developers to optimize for, and efficiently integrate application into the Cloud ETL environment Work closely with application developers to optimize Cloud data access and integrate the database platforms with application server environments Develop tooling to better automate the application integration tasks Liaise with the vendor and external support on issues such as upgrades, technical problems and solutions Provide technical support to developers in the development environment Document application integration standards for the ETL environments and processes This position is a hands-on, technical position with a leadership role in the Intelligence Community. Requirements: 7+ years of solid administration and engineering 7+ years of solid relational database experience on Massisvely Parallel Processing (MPP) database systems Experience with clustering technologies for performance and availability Experience in designing and configuring data solutions that scale in the terabyte range Performance tuning skills for large MPP and non-partitioned databases Understand RI concepts and real world trade-offs of the varying implementations Understand dimensional data modeling, star and snowflake schema Good analytical ability, strong consultative and communication skills Ability to work in a team environment College degree in computer science/related fields or equivalent experience Required Management Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational skills Experience with project management software Ability to manage multiple high priority projects simultaneously Apply
