Institutional Client Services serves our clients who come to the firm to buy and sell financial products, raise funding and manage risk. We do this by acting as a market maker and offering market expertise on a global basis. Institutional Client Services makes markets and facilitates client transactions in fixed income, equity, currency and commodity products. In addition, we make markets in and clear client transactions on major stock, options and futures exchanges worldwide. Market makers provide liquidity and play a critical role in price discovery, which
contributes to the overall efficiency of the capital markets. Our willingness to make markets, commit capital and take risk in a broad range of products is crucial to our client relationships.
The Hedge Fund Sales desk within Global Commodities provides liquidity, market information and trade ideas to our hedge fund clients globally. It has professionals in New York, London and Hong Kong. The desk works closely with a range of trading desks to execute both flow and structured business across crude oil and products, metals, natural gas and agricultural commodities. Our clients are highly experienced investment professionals who demand sharp pricing, responsive sales coverage and excellent market knowledge. The team is looking to recruit an analyst based in London.
Principal Responsibilities
•Quoting prices and executing client business across a range of commodities
•Assisting the desk with trade booking and confirmations
•Compiling and disseminating market research and trade ideas
Experience required
•Relevant bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualification) with an excellent academic and professional record
•1+ year relevant experience in front office / research, preferably with exposure to commodities and/or Hedge Funds.
•Strong quantitative skills (understanding of options and related Greeks required)
•Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
•Ability to work well under pressure
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•Solid work ethic and high levels of motivation
•Fluency in a second European language
