Securitisation/DCM Analyst recruitment

Securitisation/DCM Analyst

Our client is a large global financial services business, based in Sydney and one of their primary product offerings in Australia is debt capital markets securitisation. This position works within their DCM analytics group, specifically within their Debt Capital Markets Investor Reporting team. The small team of 7 in Investor Reporting runs the analysis for securitisation deals managed by our client on behalf of their clients across the Asia-Pac region.

Principally the team sets up and maintains structured finance models for new and existing securitisation and syndicated loan deals, to help in calculation of periodic payments required as part of each deal. Most of the work takes place with new DCM or securitisation deals, although some ongoing adjustment work is required for existing portfolios/deals.

Given the complex nature of many of the deals, the ideal applicant for this role would have very strong Excel with the ability to setup these models, and check for accuracies in the modelling. This analytics team will review the deal documentation, and then produce the Excel models that will calculate the principal and waterfall payments under the deal. As such, the ideal candidate would come from an analytical type background, and keen to work in a team that is quite heavily Excel modelling based.

Candidates with a well developed background in debt capital markets, securisation, loan syndication or structured finance would be well placed to apply for this position.

This role will likely pay around $100-120k + bonus, although this will be variable based on the successful candidate’s background and relevant experience.

• Cash-flow modelling
• Model audit / peer review
• Develop and implement operational procedures
• Review transaction documentation, legal agreements and prepare commercial memos for execution
• Oversee complex transactions
• Prepare and execute trust determinations
• Assist the business development team with new sales opportunities
• Build and maintain external client relationships (institutional banks, debt markets investors, asset originators)
