Securitues Lending, Trading Desk Analyst

Role
This role is primarily to provide support for the Global Securities Lending Desks’ daily activities. This entails the compilation of various types of data to facilitate effective analysis of portfolio inventory, trading performance, client and prospect evaluations as well as loan utilization. Also responsibility for performing operational duties associated with trading activities.
Principal Responsibilities
- Running and creating regular trading and risk management reports, including lending portfolio composition analysis, on loan balances, auto-borrow statistics, hot stock allocations and dividend information.
- Preparation and management of global lending revenue evaluations for new prospects as well as existing clients, for review by traders. High level of interaction with SL Client/Sales and global trading teams.
- Analysing data relating to borrower loan balances and profitability, client inventory, earnings, and loan utilization.
- Work closely with operations teams to minimize risk situations and maintain operational efficiencies.
- Interface with borrowers and Northern Trust global trading desks to optimise revenue opportunities and help maintain a consistent service globally.
- Ownership for some operational tasks including booking of loan activity, rebooking and flipping loans, and performing contract comparison tasks.
- Coordinate daily/weekly workflows of the groups Bangalore based resource. Provide appropriate training as and when required.
Skills / Experience
- Securities lending experience preferable
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Very strong PC skills including Microsoft Access, Excel, Fundmaster. Bloomberg experience highly desirable
- Be confident in both written and verbal communications
- Ability to quickly pick up on new concepts and use relevant skills to enhance and improve processes
- Degree qualification highly desirable
- Be prepared to study and pass the IMRO Investment Management Certificate
