An immediate need exists for a Security Engineer within the Amazon Global Payments Services (GPS) Operations team. This team is responsible for the security of all of Amazonrsquo;s core Payments systems. We are looking for someone with strong infrastructure security experience, an in-depth knowledge of Unix/Linux tools and architecture, networking knowledge, and programming experience. Job Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Identify security issues and risks, and develop mitigation plans. Architect, design, implement, support, and evaluate security-focused tools and services. Managing payments security infrastructure. Designing and integrating secure network connectivity with Payments partners. Participate in security compliance efforts (e.g., PCIDSS, SOX). Develop and interpret security policies and procedures. Evaluate and recommend new and emerging security products and technologies. Participate in critical security operations support. Participate in incident handling. Basic Qualifications BS in Computer Science or equivalent desired. Minimum 5 years of industry related experience. Strong experience and detailed technical knowledge in security engineering, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, and cryptography. Experience with the application of threat modeling or other risk identification techniques. Detailed knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques. Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux. Development experience in C, C++ and/or Java. Scripting skills (e.g., PERL, shell scripting). Knowledge of network and web related protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTPS, routing protocols). Preferred Qualifications MS in Computer Science. Knowledge of and experience with application security is highly desirable. Security and/or Payments certifications (e.g., CISSP) are highly desirable. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent leadership skills and teamwork skills. Results oriented, high energy, self-motivated.
